James P. Gillespie

James Paul Gillespie joined the US Army on 13 February 1942 after Japan Bombed Pearl Harbor.

He was inducted into the Army in Clarksburg, West Virginia. He served as a AP Armorer, Power Turret Gunsight Mechanic and Remote Control Turret Mechanic. He performed maintenance and repair on machine guns, bombing mechanisms and releases and he handled and loaded ammunition and bombs.

He was discharged as a Sergeant at March Field, California on 24 November 1945.
