LCDR Dennis (D.R.) Reynolds



D.R. joined the U.S. Navy in May of 1980. He turn 27 while attending Boot Camp at the Naval Training Center (NTC) Recruit Training Command (RTC) in Orlando, FL.



After Boot Camp he received his general aviation training on the A-7C Corsair Aircraft at the Fleet Readiness Aviation Maintenance Personnel (FRAMP) Command, assigned to the “Hellrazors” of VA-174 at Naval Air Station (NAS) Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL.



Then he received orders to the “Sidewinders” of VA - 86 at NAS Cecil Field and he Deployed onboard the USS NIMITZ CVN-68 on a Mediterranean Cruise.



From there he received orders to NAS Millington, TN where he received basic training as an Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) and he was advanced to Petty Officer 3rd Class (AT3).



After this training he was advanced to AT2 and assigned to Naval Air Maintenance Training Group (NAMTG) Detachment Millington, TN where he became a Naval Instructor on Navigation and Communication Equipment!



Then he received orders to NAS North Island, San Diego, CA to the “Gunbearers” of HC-11 working on H-46 Helicopters. He spent close to 6 years on Sea Duty and he deployed on four West PAC’s. While there, he was meritoriously advanced to Petty Officer First Class (AT1) and subsequently he was selected as a Chief Petty Officer (CPO) (ATC) while on Sea Duty.



He then received orders to NAMTG Detachment North Island, CA as a Naval Instructor. While assigned there he was Commissioned as an Ensign with a Designator of 633X and then he went to NAS Pensacola, FL for Officer Indoctrination Training.



Then he transferred to NAS Miramar, San Diego, CA to the “Wallbangers” of VAW-117 and served as the Maintenance Material Control Officer (MMCO) and the Assistant Maintenance Officer (AMO) and he deployed 2 times with VAW-117.



He then transferred back to NAS North Island, San Diego, CA to the “Blue Wolves” of VS-35 where he served as the MMCO and the AMO for the S-3B Viking Aircraft and he made 2 Western Pacific deployments!



Then he was assigned back to NAMTG North Island, San Diego, CA as the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the H-60 Training Facility and then he was selected to serve as Executive Officer (XO) of the entire training command.



Then he received orders to Commander Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Pacific (COMHSMWINGPAC) where he served as the AMO and Maintenance Officer and he retired in August 2007.
